SALEM, N.H. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police said they found baby formula, beer and a syringe while responding to a Target in Salem, N.H. on Wednesday.

Employees of the 205 S. Broadway store contacted the Salem Police Department at about 4:43 p.m. after they said they saw three people stealing baby formula.

Police said two men stole the formula, valued at $100, while a woman acted as a lookout.  The three left the store and headed to their vehicle.

Officers said they located the vehicle in a KMart parking lot and, in addition to the contraband, found two children. According to police, one of the children was sitting next to an open container of beer and a loaded syringe on the seat.

Police said the children's car seats were not buckled.

Police also said the woman had a cylindrical screw top container attached to her key chain containing an assortment of non-prescribed pills.

All three were held overnight pending arraignment.

The Department of Children, Youth, and their Families took custody of the two children. Officials said they were the children of two of the suspects.
