Connecticut gunman had Mass., NH ties

KINGSTON, NH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) The shooter behind the second-deadliest school shooting in our nation's history has ties to Kingston, NH.

State records show Adam Lanza's family lived on Depot Road in Kingston up until 1998 when his parents, Peter and Nancy, sold it.

Nancy's brother, James, is a Kingston police officer.

Newburyport Daily News reports that Peter Lanza lived in Amesbury, MA prior to marrying Nancy. The couple reportedly lived in Haverhill until 1990.

Peter S. Lanza, who Newburyport Daily News identifies as the shooter's grandfather, lived in Haverhill, Groveland, and Plaistow, NH, before his death in 2010.

Adam Lanza's former classmates from Newtown High School tell the New York Times they were told the 20-year-old had Asperger syndrome. Asperger syndrome is a high functioning form of autism.

The former classmates described him as intelligent, but nervous and fidgety. They tell the newspaper that he did "all he could" to avoid attention.

Police say Lanza killed his mother at their home and then opened fire Friday inside the elementary school where she taught, massacring 26 people, including 20 children, before committing suicide at the school.
