Congressman Tierney won't face House Ethics Committee

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – Congressman John Tierney learned Wednesday he would not have to face the House Ethics Committee.

The committee announced they would not open an investigation into the dealings of the nine-term Salem Democrat for failing to report to the IRS money his wife received and put into their joint account.

The money Tierney's wife was allegedly receiving was given to her in connection with her brother's illegal offshore gambling business.

Tierney's wife served a month in federal prison for the offense.
