Congress reviewing proposed CVS/Aetna merger

WASHINGTON — Congress is looking at a big corporate merger that could change the way we get healthcare.

The nation's largest pharmacy chain, CVS, plans to merge with health insurance giant Aetna.

Tuesday, company leaders testified before congress that the merger will drive down the costs for doctors visits and prescriptions for consumers. But consumer advocates warned there's no guarantee savings would be passed on to consumers.

Federal regulators still have to approve the merger. Company shareholders vote on the deal next month.
