Confirmed case of MRSA reported at East Bridgewater Jr./Sr. High School

EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Cleaning crews were busy Thursday night after a confirmed case of MRSA was reported at East Bridgewater Jr./Sr. High School.

Superintendent Elizabeth Legault sent a letter to parents Thursday afternoon confirming the case.

The school sent students in after-school programs home early, and were encouraged to shower and wash their bags.

"We are taking the necessary precautionary methods to clean and disinfect the entire building this evening," the letter from Superintendent Legault said. "The district will be using an industrial regulate MRSA disinfectant to clean all areas."

The district said it consulted with the Dept. of Public Health and decided after cleaning, the school would be safe to return to Friday morning.
