Concord-Carlisle officials dispute bullying suit

CONCORD, Mass. (AP) — Concord-Carlisle High School officials are disputing allegations in a lawsuit brought by a former student who says school administrators did nothing as she was relentlessly bullied.

Isabella Hankey alleges in her $2 million suit filed this month that the abuse included death threats and crude slurs carved into her car. The 18-year-old Hankey alleges the stress caused her to suffer a pulmonary embolism and finish her senior year elsewhere.

The school district, both towns and school officials are named as defendants.

Attorney Leonard Kesten, who represents all the defendants, tells The Boston Globe (http://b.globe.com/1ar3H91 ) that Hankey's accusations are "outrageous" and will move for dismissal.

Principal Peter Badalament says when he first found out about the bullying he "aggressively pursued every lead" and took "concrete steps" to ensure Hankey's safety.
