Commuter train derailed in Belmont

BELMONT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A commuter rail train on the Fitchburg line derailed in Belmont on Tuesday morning.

The train was heading westbound from North Station when it derailed around 8:30 a.m.

Officials say one of the coaches had a wheel come off the tracks. They are calling it a "relatively minor incident."

No one was injured. The train was stopped between Belmont Center and the Waverly Train Station. Commuters on the train walked down the tracks toward the Belmont Center Station following the derailment.

MBTA buses were sent to the scene to transport commuters beyond the stoppage.
