Cold Friday with temps in the 30s

by FOX 25 Meteorologist Shiri Spear:

The weekend is almost here!

Friday will be mostly cloudy and cool.  In fact, highs in the middle 30s will resemble the normal historical LOW temperature for today!  The best chance for a few breaks in the clouds will be over the Cape and Islands.

Mostly cloudy skies will come with a few light snow showers overnight.  A coating of snow is possible, but all incoming precipitation is expected to remain light.   Lows will drop back into the 20s.  Remember it will feel like the teens with any breeze.

Saturday will be the colder and wetter day of the weekend.  Waves of light rain or snow (even a mix at times) will fall .  Snow will stick best in the higher elevations; it will be too warm for accumulation over the Cape.  A few models hint that minor accumulation may reach as far east as I-95.  Keep in mind, the stuff will have a hard time sticking with the afternoon hovering above freezing.  This will NOT be a big snow event, but it may make holiday preparations inconvenient in spots.  In other words, don't climb on your roof to staple lights if slick conditions develop!

Sunday will be milder and drier.  Plan on partial sun and highs in the mid 50s.  Late day clouds will produce overnight rain.  It will stay warm and pleasant Monday afternoon and Tuesday.

Enjoy the weekend everyone…  At least the second half!
