ROANOKE, Va. — A Virginia coffee shop is hoping to change the manners of its customers, and it could mean either deep discounts or jacked-up prices.
CUPS Coffee & Tea put out a board over the weekend that explained basic manners to those who might have forgotten the "magic words."
The sign lists prices, depending on how customers order.
"One small coffee" is $5. "One small coffee, please" is $3. and "Hello, I'd like one small coffee, please" is only $1.75.
Austin Simms told WDBJ that he was trying to be funny, not famous.
"I decided, because I need to solve all the injustices of the world, to start charging more for people who didn't take the time to say hello and connect and realize we're all people behind the counter," Simms said.
