Clouds and drizzle to start Wednesday, sunshine will then takeover

Tuesday was drizzly and raw in Boston as expected with heavier rain over southeastern Massachusetts. Spring rains are expected and welcome here to get the grass, flowers, and trees to spring to life. The temperatures we had to deal with, however, were decidedly not spring-like. Highs in the upper 30s and low 40s were common. That is more like late February to early March. It is about to get better.

We will still have the clouds early Wednesday, perhaps some drizzle in eastern Mass., but it will all be moving offshore slowly. The sun should be out for most around lunchtime. Cape Cod will be last to clear. That sunshine will warm us up into the 60s, although coastal towns will stay in the 50s. This will all be ahead of the next cold front coming through Wednesday night. It could bring a few showers into early Thursday, but the sun will be back again for much of that day. I expect temperatures to stay milder through the weekend, even chasing 70 Sunday.
