Clinton woman accused of hitting child with car, fleeing scene

LANCASTER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Clinton woman is accused of hitting a child on a bike in Lancaster and then fleeing the scene.

Investigators say a 12-year-old boy was riding his bike in the area of Mill Street at about 6 p.m. Wednesday when he was hit from behind by a car. The driver fled the scene without stopping.

The unidentified boy was taken to UMass Medical Center in Worcester with serious injuries. His condition was not updated on Thursday night.

Lancaster Police have identified the accused driver as 44-year-old Julie Gallagher. Police tell FOX 25 they are investigating and that charges are expected to be filed soon.
