(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Former gubernatorial candidate Christy Mihos has been charged with assault and battery for an incident that occurred between him and his wife at their West Yarmouth home in July 2011.
A clerk magistrate decided to issue the charge following a closed-door hearing on June 27.
Mihos, 63, did not attend the hearing; however, his attorney, Edward Ryan, denied that his client ever abused his wife or spent millions on strippers and prostitutes, as she alleges.
The couple filed for divorce in March.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on August 7.
