BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was in Mass. on Friday night to attend a fundraiser hosted by former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown.
Brown confirmed that he is hosting a fundraiser for Christie via Twitter. The Boston Globe, which obtained a copy of the invitation, says the $3,800 per plate dinner is at the Commonwealth Ave home of Christopher Egan and his wife Jean.
"Scott and Chris Christie like each other a lot," says Republican consultant Charley Manning. "Chris Christie came up and helped him in his campaigns and campaigned for him and this is a little, 'back at you buddy.'"
Christie has been traveling the country to raise money for his re-election this year in the heavily Democratic state of New Jersey. His office said he couldn't speak with FOX 25, even though his Twitter feed showed he was already in Mass., at his son's pee wee hockey tournament earlier today.
The Republican governor was a Romney surrogate during the 2012 campaign, but was left off the guest list for CPAC this weekend, an annual conference for Conservatives. That is not surprising since days before the election he was seen touring Hurricane Sandy damage with President Barack Obama.
Christie is rumored to be a presidential candidate in 2016. So where does that leave Scott Brown? In an exclusive interview with FOX 25's Maria Stephanos last month, Brown said he's only thinking about a run for governor.
For now, Brown has signed on as a paid FOX News contributor. A spokesman told FOX 25 he was not available for comment.
