FALMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Several children were transported to the hospital Tuesday after the school bus they were traveling in hit a utility pole in Falmouth.
The crash happened at about 9 a.m. on Thomas Landers Road near Technology Park. The school bus driver told police a white box truck drove into the lane they were traveling in, causing the driver to take evasive action. While trying to avoid a crash, the bus swerved, left the road, and hit a utility pole.
A fire official at the scene said 9 students from the Mullen Hall Elementary School were transported to the hospital for evaluation. Investigators say none of the children sustained serious injuries.
A photographer on the scene said the utility pole was knocked down, blocking both lanes of the road.
The crash remains under investigation.
