Child struck by car at Wareham campground

WAREHAM, Mass. — A child was struck by a car at a campground in Wareham.

Wareham Police responded to a report that a child was hit by a car and was still under the vehicle at Maple Park Campground.

Before police arrived, bystanders pulled the child out from under the car, and the child was then transported to a local hospital.

Med Flight was originally called after the incident, but was then canceled after the child's injuries were deemed to be serious, but not life-threatening.

There is no word on the cause of the crash.
