Chelsea police searching for suspect after drive-by shooting

CHELSEA, Mass. – Police are searching for a suspect after a drive-by shooting in Chelsea Friday afternoon.

The shooting happened on Clyde Street at Route 16 just after 3 p.m.

According to Chelsea Police Chief Brian Kyes, the victim was shot in his left ankle. He is expected to survive.

Police believe the shooter was in a black Toyota, possibly a Camry. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video to see if they can see the car’s license plate.

Police said they believe the shooting was not a random attack.
