‘Catastrophic' pipe failure causes flooding at Manchester VA Medical Center

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A “catastrophic” mechanical pipe failure at the Manchester VA Medical Center early Wednesday morning has resulted in flooding and severe water damage.

Facility officials said the incident was reported around 4 a.m., and several floors have been affected.

All employees are asked to be present as scheduled and check in at the first floor training and education room for more information, officials said in a statement.

The facility is working to notify patients with appointments in the areas that have been affected by the failure.
