Carver woman accused of biting officer after 3rd OUI arrest

DUXBURY, Mass. — A Carver woman bit an officer during her third OUI arrest Tuesday, said Duxbury police.

Officers were called to the Milepost Tavern in Duxbury after servers refused to give Debra Titus, 62, a drink when she arrived. Police found Titus in the parking lot outside of her running vehicle.

Officers determined that the 62-year-old was driving with a suspended license and placed under arrest for her third OUI and operating after suspension.

At this point, Titus became ‘combative’ and allegedly bit an officer trying to put her seatbelt on in the cruiser. She was also allegedly tried to stomp on officers' feet when they removed her shoes at the station and swung at officers when they were attempting to remove the handcuffs and put her in a cell.

Neighbors say are certainly talking about the latest arrest, but said it's not the first time she's had a bizarre encounter behind the wheel.

“She drove her truck into the pond one year ago,” Roger Campion said.  "She's got to be nuts."

No officers sustained an injury during the incident.
