Car stuck in sink hole at Burlington Mall

BURLINGTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A car was stuck in a sink hole in the Burlington Mall parking lot Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Firefighters responded to the Burlington Mall at about 3:30 p.m. for a report of a water main break. Upon arrival, firefighters found a car stuck in a sink hole, which they believe was caused by the water main break. The water main break destabilized the asphalt parking lot creating the hole, officials say.

The car was eventually removed from the hole and no one was injured. The Burlington Mall closed at 5 p.m. Thursday as it did not have water.

Crews spent the evening Thursday trying to repair the damage. The mall re-opened at their regularly scheduled time Friday morning.
