Car in Falmouth crashes into utility pole

FALMOUTH, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A car crashed into a telephone pole in Falmouth Sunday morning, causing part of Route 151 to close, according to police.

Falmouth police and fire departments received a call just after 7:15 a.m. for a one-car crash near Route 151 and Cavossa Excavation. A 2002 Toyota 4-Runner had hit and shattered a telephone pole, causing the pole to fall across the road, exposing live wires.

The surrounding section of Route 151 was closed in both directions while the utility pole and wires were repaired. At around 11 a.m. one lane of the road was opened, and police said the repairs should last until "late afternoon."
