Car hits, pins man at gas station in Dorchester

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A man standing at gas station pump in Dorchester was hit by a car and pinned up against a gas station post Sunday.

The incident happened at the Citgo gas station on Morrissey Boulevard on Sunday morning. Boston fire officials said a car struck the man from behind, pinning him between the car and one of the posts. He was taken to a hospital with a serious leg injury.

The impact against the post caused the gas station's overhead fire extinguishing system to activate, which covered the area with white powder. A HazMat crew responded to clean up the station.

Boston police are investigating the accident and did not release the name of the driver or the victim. They did not say if there would be any charges against the driver.
