Car goes airborne, crashes into Ashland house

ASHLAND, Mass. — Police in Ashland say a 19-year-old man crashed his car early Wednesday morning and ended up going airborne and hitting a house.

The crash happened on Prospect Street around 4:30 a.m. and the owner of that home told FOX25 they couldn’t believe what happened.

“I was asleep and I felt what I thought was an explosion and a huge vibration. My roommate and I came running downstairs in the dark to be able to see out the window the underbody of the car,” Susan Norcross said.

The driver, 19-year-old Aditya Prashanth Anand, was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center for minor injuries.

"Out the window I saw the guy climbed out and oddly he was just really white, shockingly white,” she said.

The driver told police a tire on his vehicle blew out, causing him to veer into the yard and into several parked trucks before hitting the house.

Police have not pressed any charges yet, but say speed was likely a factor.
