• Car explodes in BJ's parking lot in Stoneham


    STONEHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A woman was walking to her car when it exploded.
    It happened around 3:40 p.m. Sunday at the BJ's parking lot in Stoneham. Officials said a remote car starter ignited vapors from plumbing equipment in the car.
    The driver says she was only feet away when her car spewed parts everywhere. She says she is thankful no one was hurt.

    Two vehicles parked nearby were damaged.

    Troopers from the Fire Marshal's Office, as well as the State Police Bomb Squad, are investigating the incident.
