Camera catches Woburn house break suspect in the act

WOBURN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Peabody man has been arrested in connection with a Woburn house break after he was caught on camera squeezing himself through a window, police said.

Police responded to the Salem Street home on Sept. 20 after the resident called police to report her home security system had been triggered and she suspected somebody had broken in, reports the Woburn Patch.

Because the woman's home had been broken into before, she had installed a security camera and pointed it at a window containing an air conditioning unit. Following the incident, she played the video and watched as the man struggled to get inside the home.

The woman told the Patch she was upset somebody had broken into her home, relieved her security system worked, and admitted she found the video mildly funny.

Using the video, police identified a suspect and arrested 35-year-old Charles Derochement. When confronted, Derochement allegedly confessed to the incident.

Police said Derochement was startled by the alarm and didn't take anything from the home.
