Cambridge's new city manager to make $330,000 annually

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – He hasn't even started his new job yet, yet the incoming city manager of Cambridge is already raising eyebrows with his salary.

The Boston Globe reports that Richard Rossi has signed a three-year contract that will guarantee him an annual salary of $330,000 annually. That's almost double what Boston Mayor Tom Menino gets paid.

Rossi is currently the deputy city manager and makes $287,000 a year. He is set to begin his new job July 1 and will actually make less than the outgoing city manager, who made $347,000 a year.

Critics told the paper it's obscene for Rossi to make this much.

City councilors say they're looking into the contract.
