Calling hours for slain Mass. teacher on Sunday

ANDOVER, Mass. (AP) — Calling hours are being held in her hometown for the 24-year-old Danvers High School teacher allegedly killed by a student last week.

The event honoring Colleen Ritzer begins Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and continues to 8:30 p.m. at St. Augustine Church in Andover.

Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston announced the arrangements on behalf of Ritzer's family.

Ritzer's body was found near the school where she taught after she went missing Tuesday night. Fourteen-year-old Philip Chism is charged with murder in her death and has pleaded not guilty.

Her family has established a memorial scholarship fund to benefit Andover High School graduates who also pursue teaching careers.
