Boston landmark Anthony's Pier 4 closing today

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A Boston landmark is closing its doors Wednesday.

Anthony's Pier 4 opened in 1963 and hosted some of the city's most powerful people, including President John F. Kennedy. Inside, you could find pictures of Joe DiMaggio, Johnny Carson, and Judy Garland.

The restaurant was once among the most profitable dining spots in the country, bringing in $12 million a year in the 1980s. But owners told The Boston Globe business has dropped as new places move into the Seaport.

Tuesday night, they held a farewell party for friends and staff.

The good news is the owners told the newspaper there is a possibility it will reopen a smaller version of the restaurant in a building nearby.
