Boston Globe: Suffolk Downs casino needs big profits to hit estimates

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A casino at Suffolk Downs would have to bring in more gambling revenue than any other casino in the western hemisphere of earth to reach $1 billion in profits, The Boston Globe reports. That is the amount Boston leaders are banking on.

Seventy-five percent of the casino's revenue would come from slots. The newspaper says those four to five thousand slots would have to average between $400 and $500 of profit a day.

The record is held by Resort World in New York City, which made $392 per machine per day, raking in almost $700 million a year.
