Back Bay parking spot sells for $125k

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – A parking spot in Boston's Back Bay has fetched $125-thousand at auction.

The spot at 349 Marlborough Street was sold Wednesday afternoon. The buyer was required to put 15-percent down immediately after the auction and pay the full price within 30 days.

The price was a bargain compared to the $560-thousand paid for a tandem spot behind 298 Commonwealth Ave. in June. A bidding war between neighbors brought that spot from $42-thousand to more than a half a million dollars in just 15 minutes.

A space behind 48 Commonwealth Ave. went for $300,000 in 2009, two tandem spots a block from the Public Garden sold for $200,000 in 2012, and a single spot on Marlborough Street went for $250,000 in December.
