Brothers with autism finally get service dog

BROOKLINE, Mass. — Two local men with autism have been in search of a service dog for a while now.

Daniel Attia and his brother live in Brookline.

They're both autistic and Daniel's brother is also blind.

The organization Specialized K-9 matches people with disabilities to a service dog that's the perfect fit for them.

Mike Ghidoni works for the group and brought the Attia brothers their new pup on Wednesday.

"We've been looking to try and find these boys a service dog for a long time. We finally did, and today we're bringing him home." Ghidoni said.

Ghidoni says the rescued pup-- that traveled all the way from Tennessee-- is special. He has the perfect temperament and is the perfect size for the brothers.

"I've wanted a dog for a long time... it's just nice to know that a dog can be something that's helpful for me-- help with my anxiety or my brother's special needs," said Attia.

Attia and his brother met their new pup and instantly got along.

They're naming it Jack.
