While there are dozens of reasons that this team is out of contention, and the amount of injuries to key players is surely one of them. The Sox have yet to have their entire starting line-up on the field for even one game this season. The starting line-up will have missed a minimum of 321 games by the time the season is over after the unfortunate news that rookie third baseman Will Middlebrooks is likely to miss the rest of the season with a broken wrist. Below you can see the expected line-up, how many games each player has missed, and the ailment that each player suffered:
