READING, Mass. (AP) - State police say a 71-year-old Wakefield man who had pulled over in the breakdown lane of Interstate 95 in Reading has been killed by an allegedly drunken driver.
Police say the victim pulled over at about 8:50 p.m. Tuesday.
He was allegedly struck by a car driven by 32-year-old Mary Grigoriadis of Brockton. Police say it's unclear if the victim was inside or outside of his vehicle.
The man was taken to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police determined that Grigoriadis was drunk and she was held on $10,000 bail pending her arraignment scheduled for Wednesday. It could not be determined if she had a lawyer.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
