Brockton teen says she was jumped by classmates while others recorded

BROCKTON, Mass. – A teenager from Brockton says she was jumped and dragged by the hair during an attack that was shared on line.

Hannah Kenney-Blaisdell said she has been bullied at school for some time, and before the attack she exchanged words with the girls but can’t believe what happened next.

“They grabbed my hair, with me to the cement, dragged me at least 3 feet, and started kicking me,” the 13-year-old said.

The attack happened Monday afternoon in front of South Middle School. Hannah says other students watched and recorded it without stepping in to help her.

"They were laughing, being instigators, and recording," she told Boston 25 News reporter Malini Basu.
Hannah said the bullying has been going since last year.

“I’ve been going through a lot of bullying, and of course I’m human and I've made mistakes, people just can’t accept that,” she said.

The teen tells us, she was walking to her dad’s car after school, when she was grabbed from behind.

“She kept following me when I kept going to my dad’s car, then she ripped [me] to the cement. My dad didn’t know it was me until he picked me off the ground,” Hannah said.

Kristin Kenney told Boston 25 News she’s heartbroken and doesn’t understand why she feels school administrators aren’t doing anything about her daughter’s bullying.

“A lot of pain, a lot of hurt for my daughter,” she said. “I saw the video, and every time I closed my eyes I rewatched the video in my head.”

In a statement to Boston 25 News, the superintendent said, “We take acts of violence very seriously and we have zero tolerance with students trying to settle disagreements in this manner.”

Even after the attack, Hannah said she’s just going to move forward.

“Don’t give up, don’t shut down, just deal with it, and find something to cope,” she said.

She said taking pictures of sunsets, cooking and being around her family helps her focus on positivity.

Her dad said he works at a security company, and offered to do security at the school prior to this incident, but he claims the school wanted to do nothing to do with it.
