Brockton shooting victim dies

BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a man shot in Brockton last week has died.

The Plymouth district attorney's office announced that 21-year-old Joshua LeClair of Brockton died on Tuesday.

LeClair was shot on Jan. 30 around 10:30 p.m. and was taken to a Boston hospital.

Brockton police arrested 21-year-old Linanel Brown-Madison on Sunday in connection with the shooting and charged him with attempted robbery by firearm, assault with intent to murder, unlawful carrying of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and an open warrant.

The Enterprise (http://bit.ly/XiWAFD ) reports that he was not immediately charged in connection with the death. He is being held on $250,000 bail.

The shooting is the city's first homicide of the year.
