Brockton school stabbing suspect held on $20K bail

BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) - A 16-year-old Brockton High School student charged with stabbing another teenager in the neck has been ordered held on $20,000 bail.

The boy, whose name was not released because of his age, faces charges including assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the attack March 18 that sent a 17-year-old youth to the hospital.

The suspect is a student at Edison Academy, an alternative program that meets in the afternoons and evenings at the high school and is for students who have either aged out of high school or haven't been able to succeed in mainstream classes.

Police tell The Enterprise that the suspect is being held at a juvenile detention facility.
