BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A fight inside the Alamo Cafe Friday night led to one man's arrest after police say he stabbed another man.

The stabbing occurred at around 10:30 p.m. inside the bar at 49 Legion Parkway, according to the Brockton Enterprise.

The victim, a 40-year-old man whose name has not been released, got into an argument with Brian Anthony Pettiford, 47, when Pettiford tried to sell him stolen cigarettes, according to police.

Pettiford then took out a black folding knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, the Enterprise reported.

Other bar patrons held Pettiford down until police arrived and arrested and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
