Brockton man hits police cruiser at Route 140 construction site

LAKEVILLE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 32-year-old Brockton man is accused of hitting a Mass. State Police cruiser on construction detail in Lakeville.

Mass. State Police say the cruiser was stationed at a construction zone on Route 140 southbound on Wednesday when the accident occurred. Benjamin Black is accused of slamming into the cruiser, injuring a state trooper and a construction worker.

The construction worker, identified as Michael Pavao of Deluca Fence, was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with leg injuries. Both the state trooper and Black were taken to Morton Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No charges were filed as of Wednesday night.
