Brockton court evacuated after reported bomb threat Friday morning

BROCKTON, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Brockton District Court on Main Street was evacuated for two hours Friday after a reported bomb threat.

The Enterprise reports the Clerk's office received a call at about 11 a.m. from a caller who claimed there were six bombs inside the courthouse.

The courthouse was reopened at 1 p.m. after law enforcement agencies did not find anything suspicious in the building.

The Enterprise says at about the same time the bomb threat was called in, Brockton police received reports of shots fired on Vale Street. Two cars exchanged fire just before 11:30 a.m.

There is no word on any injuries, but investigators are reportedly searching for a gray Nissan believed to be connected to the shooting.
