Brim Beanie Bandit may have struck again Thursday

NORWELL, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The investigation into the Brim Beanie Bandit is very active on a couple of fronts. In fact, police believe he may have hit another bank Thursday.

The South Shore Bank on Washington Street in Norwell was hit at 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning by a man passing a note demanding cash. The man was described as being in his 50s, he has facial hair and was wearing a black coat and scally cap.

It's that headgear that led the Bank Robbery Task Force to call him the Brim Beanie Bandit. He's wearing it in every single bank robbery and police say it looks like he was wearing it Thursday in Norwell.

The bandit has hit six area banks from mid-December until just last Friday when he hit the Dedham Savings Bank, right across the street from the Fox 25 studio.

There is still more. About an hour after the Norwell Bank Robbery, a man matching the description of the Brim Beanie Bandit, was pulled over at a traffic stop driving a car similar to the one police believe the bandit was driving.

Sources tell FOX 25 that detectives are trying to determine if this man has any connection to the Brim Beanie Bandit robberies.

So far, no arrests have been made.
