Bridgewater man pleads not guilty in fatal Brockton stabbing

WEYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - A 37-year-old Bridgewater man has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in the fatal stabbing of a man in Brockton.
Alfred Giannini was arraigned Friday in his hospital bed at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth where he's being treated after being shot by police in a manhunt following Wednesday's stabbing.
The Brockton Enterprise reports that Giannini appeared agitated and tried to talk with court officials near the end of his brief hearing, but was calmed by his attorney.
Prosecutors said Giannini went to a Brockton house at midday on Wednesday and stabbed 44-year-old Jeffrey Cicerano in the torso.
Prosecutors said Giannini stole a relative's car from a nearby house and drove away. Police found him in Abington a few hours later.
