Bride forced to hitch a ride to wedding after limo breaks down

BROOKLINE, N.H. — A Brookline, New Hampshire woman was on her way to get married when the limo she was riding in broke down.

But Angelique Dunning was determined to get to the altar and told FOX25 she wouldn't miss her wedding for the world.

Angelique said the five bridesmaids and four other friends in the car with her helped keep things light.

“It didn't even feel real. We were all just cracking up on the side of the road with our thumbs up drinking or champagne,” she told FOX25.

A god Samaritan named Jay stopped, but was unable to help immediately because he had his wife and four kids in the car.

“He must've been somewhat responsible. He went home drop the kids off and then got us,” Angelique said.

All the while Angelique’s soon-to-be husband Jarrod was waiting at the wedding hall.

“I didn't know if she was trying to ditch me or what,” he said.

The newlyweds have been together for 11 years and waiting for this day their entire lives. They now want to thank the man who helped when they needed it most.

“Big shout out to Jay, I'm going to have to find him somehow and sent him a thank you card. Definitely going to find him.  He doesn't live very far

Jay was invited to attend after dropping Angelique and her bridesmaids off, but declined the invitation.

The limo company has refunded all of the couple's money and gave them a free ride to the airport for their honeymoon.

They say they’re just thankful everything worked out and are happily enjoying their honeymoon.
