LEBANON, NH. — Police tell Boston 25 News a suspect is in custody after an investigation into reports of an active shooter at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

The New Hampshire Attorney General said police were called for a reported shooting on the level 4 of the ICU around 1:25 p.m.

Attorney General Gordon MacDonald said 70-year-old Pamela Ferriere was shot and killed by her son, 49-year-old Travis Frink.

"The suspect involved was apprehended without incident by Lebanon police officer as he was attempting to leave the grounds of the hospital,” MacDonald said.

The AG said Frink was at the hospital with the sole purpose of killing his mother. In addition, Frink allegedly fired more than one shot.

According to Lebanon police, the suspect described as 6 feet tall with blond hair and a red camouflage print shirt, was in custody by 2:57 p.m.

When the incident was on-going, Lebanon police were urging people to stay away from the area of the hospital. They have since cleared the hospital and officials resumed normal operations.
