Braintree High School closes early after bomb threat

BRAINTREE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Braintree High ended the school day before noon Thursday after receiving a bomb threat.

The superintendent's office tells FOX 25 the alleged threat came from two notes. One of the notes was found in a third floor bathroom. The second note was found on a bench outside of a third floor classroom. Investigators say the notes were written in a similar style.

School officials dismissed students at 11:45 a.m. as a precaution. Police conducted a search of the building and did not find a suspicious package.

Afternoon and evening classes held at the high school were also canceled. School officials planned to increase security at the school Friday.

Police are investigating the source of the notes.
