BRAINTREE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Braintree councilors are taking another look at a meal tax that could make big bucks for the town. The council says the tax could bring in $900,000.
A 0.75 percent charge would be added to all meals in addition to the 6.25 percent tax already implemented by the state.
The council claims the city has been losing state aid over the last few years and this tax would help boost revenues and improve Braintree's infrastructure.
The council has voted the measure down twice before.
