Brady out of practice Wednesday due to 'shoulder, illness'

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) – The Patriots official injury report says Tom Brady missed practice Wednesday because of illness and right shoulder issues.

Brady, who has been battling a cold in recent weeks, was absent for the media portion of Pats practice Wednesday. He also missed a scheduled press conference.

Bill Belichick said he would not comment on Brady's absence at his own press conference Wednesday afternoon.

When asked about the last time his star quarterback surprised him, Belichick replied, "This morning."

Patriots Tight End Steve Gregory said, "You know obviously Tom's got his deal, I mean you'd have to talk to him about that. You know I was just focused on the things that I need to do to help the defense."

Brady was put on last week's injury report with a right shoulder issue but ended up leading the Patriots to a 43-22 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Brady is scheduled to hold another media availability on Friday.
