BOSTON — Police in Roxbury are searching for a suspect after an attempted kidnapping Tuesday morning.
According to the Boston Police Department, the incident happened just past 6:20 a.m. in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Brookford Street while the girl was waiting for a school bus.
“It's horrific. She was walking to the bus stop. She felt someone walk from behind her, all of a sudden she felt somebody grab her by her arm. Then they grabbed her and covered her mouth and told her not to say anything,” the victim’s mother said.
The 13-year-old female victim, a student at Jackson Mann School in Allston, was not injured and was able to safely get away with the help of a passerby.
“She kicked him in the leg, she trying to defend herself. Somebody came to her rescue. The guy let her go and she started running,” the girl’s stepfather said.
Police released a photo of the suspect, who is described as a black male around 6 feet tall, weighing around 200 pounds, with no facial hair. He was wearing a black baseball came, black t-shirt, and tan pants at the time.
