15-year-old arrested for deadly stabbing in Roxbury

BOSTON — Boston Police have arrested a 15-year-old accused of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old in Roxbury Thursday morning.

The stabbing happened just before 10 a.m. in the area of 55 Warrent St. The unidentified victim was taken to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The Boston Police Department says investigators were able to gather enough evidence to make identify and locate the suspect by 4 p.m. the same day.

"I'd like to thank the members of the community who assisted today," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said. "Their aid and information was instrumental in making a quick apprehension in this case. My detectives worked diligently on investigating the incident, and I hope that the swift resolution and arrest can bring at least a small amount of solace to the victim's family."

The suspect is set to be arraigned Friday morning in Roxbury District Court.
