Boy, 12, hit by car in Waltham

WALTHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A boy was struck by a car Tuesday morning in Waltham, police said.

Police said the 12-year-old bicyclist, who was on his way to school, was crossing Pine Street at about 8 a.m. collided with a Ford F-series dump truck. The boy sustained lacerations to his head and right elbow areas. He was conscious and alert when he was flown to Children's Hospital.

Police said the truck was being driven by a 22-year-old Waltham man. He was not hurt.

According to police, the driver does not appear to be at fault at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
