Boy, 11, accused of assaulting teachers

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- An 11-year-old boy was arrested after reportedly disturbing an assembly and assaulting teachers at Northbridge Middle School Monday.

Officers were called to the school at about 1 p.m. for the report of an unruly student. When officers arrived they found the boy had injured at least one teacher.

The boy was taken to a police station before being brought to Worcester Juvenile Court for arraignment

He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, disorderly conduct and disturbing a school assembly. Police said the boy did not have a previous criminal record.

The school district refused to comment on the incident saying that administrators "follow our policy and procedures and make decisions based on the best interest and safety of our students and staff."

Some parents told Fox 25 that they were upset that the school didn't send a letter home. When asked by Fox 25 if the school would consider sending letters home after incidents like this in the future, the district said the case involves confidential information and that she couldn't comment.
