Boston woman killed, several injured in crash

BROCKTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 49-year-old Boston woman was killed and several others were injured in a multi-car crash in Brockton on Friday afternoon.

Police in Brockton say detectives were attempting to stop Antwoin Moore, 27, of Brockton, at the intersection of Washington and Crescent streets when Moore accelerated, hit a cruiser, and took off.

Moore reportedly led police on a high speed chase that ended at the intersection of Quincy and Centre streets when he ran a red light and slammed into a car operated by Maryanne Kotsiopoulos. Both cars then struck several others that were stopped on Quincy Street.

Kotsiopoulos was pronounced dead at Brockton Hospital shortly after the crash.

Moore has been charged with manslaughter, assault with a dangerous weapon, operating to endanger, and other motor vehicle violations in the fatal crash. He will be arraigned on Monday in Brockton District Court.

Over half a dozen vehicles were involved in the crash, which backed up rush hour traffic in all directions.
